To grow organic arugula from seeds, you will need the following materials:

  • Arugula seeds (make sure they are organic)
  • A garden plot or container
  • Compost or other organic fertilizer
  • Soil (make sure it is rich and well-draining)
  • Water

Here are the steps to grow organic arugula:

  1. Choose a sunny spot in your garden or a large container with drainage holes. If you are planting in a container, make sure it is at least 6-8 inches deep.
  2. Mix your soil with compost or other organic fertilizer to provide your arugula with the necessary nutrients.
  3. Sow your arugula seeds about 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
  4. Water your seeds gently to keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet. Water your arugula regularly, making sure the soil stays moist but not waterlogged.
  5. Arugula seeds usually germinate in 5-7 days. Once your arugula plants have grown to about 2 inches tall, thin them out so that they are about 6 inches apart. This will give them room to grow.
  6. Harvest your arugula when the leaves are about 2-3 inches long. You can either harvest the whole plant or just the outer leaves.

In terms of medicinal benefits, arugula has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and may help to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease. It is also high in antioxidants, which can help to protect the body against oxidative stress. Additionally, arugula is low in calories and high in fiber, making it a great addition to any healthy diet.  However, as with any herbal remedy, it is important to speak with your healthcare provider before using basil for medicinal purposes.
