They won the “Best Tasting Tomato Award” at the Heirloom Garden Show in 2005 and continues to rate very high in many taste tests! This tomato is one of the darkest of the “black tomato” varieties, and is 10-12 oz. in size with a flattened round. The purplish-brown, “black” colored tomato has a deep brick red flesh and has a deliciously rich, sweet flavor.

Here are the steps to plant and grow carbon, organic tomato seeds:

  1. Choose a suitable location: Tomato plants need a lot of sunlight, so choose a location in your garden or balcony where they will receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. The soil should be rich in organic matter and well-draining.
  2. Prepare the soil: Before planting the seeds, prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of 6-8 inches and removing any weeds or debris. Add compost or aged manure to the soil to improve its fertility.
  3. Plant the seeds: Make small holes in the soil about 1/4 inch deep and place one or two seeds in each hole. Cover the seeds with soil and gently water the area to keep the soil moist.
  4. Provide water and nutrients: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. You can water the plants deeply once or twice a week, depending on the weather. Tomato plants also need regular fertilization with a balanced organic fertilizer to encourage healthy growth and fruit production.
  5. Provide support: As the tomato plants grow taller, they will need support to prevent them from falling over. You can use tomato cages, stakes, or trellises to support the plants.
  6. Monitor for pests and diseases: Tomato plants are prone to various pests and diseases, so it’s important to monitor them regularly. Look for signs of pests such as aphids or whiteflies, and use organic pest control methods if necessary. You can also prevent diseases by providing good air circulation and avoiding overhead watering.
  7. Harvest the tomatoes: Depending on the variety, tomato plants usually take around 60-80 days to produce ripe fruit. Harvest the tomatoes when they are fully ripe and enjoy the delicious, organic fruits of your labor!

Remember, growing tomatoes can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it does require patience and attention to detail. With the right care and nurturing, you can grow healthy, organic tomato plants and enjoy the delicious fruits they produce.

There is some evidence to suggest that consuming carbon, organic tomatoes may provide several health benefits. Here are some of the potential medicinal benefits of carbon, organic tomatoes:

  1. Rich in antioxidants: Tomatoes are a rich source of antioxidants, including lycopene, vitamin C, and beta-carotene. These compounds may help protect against damage caused by free radicals, which can contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
  2. May reduce inflammation: Tomatoes also contain several anti-inflammatory compounds, such as flavonoids and carotenoids. Inflammation is thought to be a key factor in many chronic diseases, and consuming foods that reduce inflammation may help prevent or manage these conditions.
  3. May improve heart health: Some studies have suggested that consuming tomatoes may help improve heart health by lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of heart disease. The high levels of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds in tomatoes may help protect against damage to the cardiovascular system.
  4. May support healthy digestion: Tomatoes are a good source of dietary fiber, which is important for maintaining healthy digestion. They also contain compounds that may help protect against stomach ulcers and other digestive issues.
  5. May help with skin health: Lycopene, a compound found in high levels in tomatoes, may help protect the skin from damage caused by UV radiation. Some studies have suggested that consuming lycopene-rich foods may help reduce the risk of sunburn and skin aging.

It’s worth noting that while there is some evidence to support the health benefits of tomatoes, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of consuming these foods on human health. However, incorporating carbon, organic tomatoes into a balanced and varied diet is generally considered to be a healthy choice, and may provide some potential health benefits.
